Community Homes

Lifesteps maintains 35 homes throughout its 10-county service area where adults with special needs (mental retardation) reside. These homes are staffed to meet the needs of each individual and to support their independence. The Agency’s Community Homes are in quiet neighborhoods and the individuals are part of the community. The goal of the Community Homes program is to help adults with mental retardation live average, normal lives. Special adaptations may be made to the residences to accommodate individuals’ special needs.
