Lifesteps' Family Care Mobile Library Indiana County

Meeting the Needs of the Local Community

Lifesteps Family Care Mobile Library travels within a 10-mile radius of Indiana Borough, and makes regularly scheduled visits to locations such as WIC, Head Start offices, and low-income apartment complexes.

The library is equipped with special topic books, videos, and audio tapes that families might not otherwise be able to access. These resources cover topics such as parenting, living with special needs, grief and loss, and health care. Families are encouraged to borrow resources and share them with family and friends.

A Daily Commitment to Children and Families

The library is also used to provide developmental screenings through Lifesteps’ Child Check program, a FREE service for children birth to age five. The screening assesses a child’s development to identify potential delays, including Autism. Child Check screenings are conducted by trained staff and held in conjunction with library visits.
