Families Forever teaches separating couples to be good parents in hard times

Families Forever

Families don’t end, but marriages do. The effects of separation or divorce on children can be life-long. However, effective parenting through this troubled time can lessen the negative effects. For Butler County residents, Lifesteps offers Families Forever, a 4 hour seminar for adults struggling with challenging changes brought about by divorce, separation, or the pain, frustration and stress resulting from custody issues.

The negative effects of divorce and separation on children can include:

  • Irritability
  • Fear and stress
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Change in eating habits
  • Physical aggression including hitting, biting, and bullying of other children
  • Difficulties in school
  • Lack of interest in age appropriate activities
  • Withdrawn and socially isolated behaviors
  • Difficulty separating from caretakers

Learn skills to help your child cope by attending a Families Forever seminar, which uses the nationally recognized Transparenting curriculum. For more information on seminar dates, location and cost, contact Lifesteps' Families Forever staff  724-283-1010.
