Services for Children Overview

Children are our future. At Lifesteps, we believe that a child’s early learning experience is the foundation for his or her future. Our services are designed to give children of ALL abilities – with or without special needs - the very best start in life. Primary services include Child Care (day care), Preschool and Summer Discovery Program experiences.

Lifesteps' services for children begin at birth and help them on their path of development into Kindergarten years and beyond. From typical children to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, speech or other developmental delays, we understand the important role of the family in a child’s development, and we provide education, coaching and resource referral for families as well. Lifesteps promotes a family partnership to give each child the best start possible.

Research continues to show that the quality of a child’s early learning experience has a great impact on their future learning and school success. Our commitment is to help your child grow up healthy, safe and ready to learn – meeting their fullest potential.

Child Care, Preschool and Summer Discovery

Child Care, Preschool and Summer Discovery experiences are provided through Lifesteps' Early Education Centers in Butler and Beaver, and are integrated programs for children of ALL abilities. Child care, preschool and summer camp help children grow and develop in a safe and positive environment. Children are nurtured by educational professionals to learn to develop a positive self-image and form friendships. Programs provide appropriate intervention for children with special needs to help them improve a wide-range of developmental and learning concerns.

Preschool services include The LEAP (Learning Experiences: an Alternative Program for Preschoolers and Parents) preschool model which has been developed to combine an early childhood curriculum with applied behavior analytic (ABA) approach to teaching in an integrated classroom setting. The classroom model is established for children developing typically as well as children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Lifesteps’ believes that all children can benefit from an inclusive early childhood environment.

Lifesteps is also proud to be one of Pennsylvania’s early learning sites to provide Pre-K Counts, a FREE preschool program for qualifying 3 to 5 year old children not yet Kindergarten eligible.

Preschool scholarships are available through a Pre-Kindergarten (Preschool) Scholarship Program supported through generous business donations made to the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program.
