BAMA Auction to Help 4 Nonprofit Groups The Butler Area Merchants Auction’s board of directors has announced this year’s auction proceeds will go to Butler Little Theatre, Katie’s Kitchen, Specialty Outreach Services and the Geriatric Adult Day Health Services at Lifesteps. The theater will use its money for a children’s workshop and other children’s events. Katie’s Kitchen is part of the Christian Cooperative Ministry at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and will use the BAMA money to buy food, replace appliances and serving trays, and contribute to operating and administrative costs. Specialty Outreach Services works with Butler County youth and plans to use the auction money in the organization’s supplemental after-school meal program. The Lifesteps program serves adults, most over 60 years of age, with medical or memory problems. This program will use the BAMA money to support medical staff and the Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group. The auction, which will be Oct. 7 to 9 at the National Guard Armory on Kriess Road in Connoquenessing Township, will be the 24th auction with donated items from merchants and individuals in the county. The Butler County Chamber of Commerce oversees the auction. For more information, call 724-283-2222.
